Plot Synopsis:

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

The Review
British guy? A title like "The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight"? YA Romance? What's there not to like??!?!?!

Originally, I was gonna read Jennifer E. Smith's Geography of You and Me first, but reading this book was as good a choice as any and here's why:

Seventeen-year-old Claustrophobic Hadley Sullivan's supposed to be on a plane going to London for her father's wedding with a British woman she's never even met before but instantly hates. But instead, because of a mere 4-minute delay, her life changes, the romance starts and the story begins. All in the span of 24 hours.

Maybe because of a series of small events didn't happen, she would still be on time to board her plane and be more-or-less content to be feeling extremely anxious because of the enclosed space and the wedding, maybe she would attend the wedding, the reception and then go home afterwards to live her days like everyone else, But she doesn't, and she wont.  Because instead she has missed her plane because of 4-freakin'-minutes, because of 4-freakin'-minutes, she meets cryptic, witty British Oliver No-Last-Name-Mentioned-Or-Did-I-Forget?, charming, gentleman-like, and also on his way to London on the next plane Hadley's boarding.

The moment he takes her luggage like a gent, they instantly connect.

They sit together in the plane and talk about nonsense and they share memories of their families, what's their favorite animals and colors. Oliver charming-up Hadley and distracting her from her fear/anxiety. They share two bottles of whiskey (Well, when I say "share" I mean Oliver drank his and Hadley more-or-less spat it out!) They talk about her confusion and resentment and anger towards her father and "That British Woman" and his remarrying. That all she wants is for everything to return to what it used to be, before her father moved to the UK to teach in Oxford.

But after the flight, after the magic, after going their seperate ways, will they meet again? Is it Destiny or is it just sheer coincidence or Luck?

Gorgeous writing-style, so like Hadley, romantic and funny elements perfect for a movie, the plot, the cover, the Title! What can I say? I'm a sucker for these kind of things!

I recommend this book for when you're going abroad, maybe get some feels from the familiarity of the settings and the likes. Definitely a summer read--Hell, it's a good read all year-'round! Grab this book, lean back on your chair and read it in one sitting!

"You know what they say," Dad said, "If you love something, set it free."

"What if he doesn't come back?"

"Some things do and some things don't." He said reaching over to tweak her nose "I'll always come back to you anyway"

"You don't light up." Hadley pointed out but dad only smiled.

"I do when I'm with you."
"Love isn't supposed to make sense, it's illogical."
